The doomsday clock is yet again ticking and the time is once again, [very] close to midnight after Russia warned NATO that it’s ready for nuclear war any time now!!! But don’t blame it all on the Ruskies just yet, Folks. Turns out that most of their rival countries like ex-USSR states and other enemies are joining or trying to join NATO. Most of these countries are located along its western border. And then there is the anti-missile shield that the US is trying to build without Russia’s consent, also near Russian borders.
So naturally, Russia feels… Well, uhm… How to put this… Paranoid would be a suiting term.

Many Eastern European countries which used to be part of the Warsaw Pact, a former Soviet sphere of influence, have since joined NATO, an issue which irritated Russia. Russia believes NATO is ganging up with these countries to encircle its western border.

Among those countries who have swapped the Warsaw Pact for Nato are Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. Russia is also at odds with the U.S. over plans for an American missile defence shield in Europe.

Russia also has deeply strained relations with Georgia after a 2008 war over two disputed provinces. Georgia is actively seeking Nato membership. General Makarov specifically referred to NATO’s plans to offer membership to Georgia and Ukraine as potentially threatening to Russia.

The nation’s military doctrine says it may use nuclear weapons to counter a nuclear attack on Russia or an ally, or a large-scale conventional attack that threatens Russia’s existence. Russia sees NATO’s expansion to include former Soviet republics and ex-members of the Soviet bloc in eastern and central Europe as a key threat to Russia’s security.

And let me explain why this is a really big deal: Turns out, the congress decided to vote on whether or not to start a new world war back in May of this year! And if you never heard of it, it’s only because it’s a hipster bill the bill is not obvious at a casual glance, it is hidden deep inside the National Defense Authorization Act or NDAA, for short. The “public” debate was held at midnight and lasted about 10 minutes (Read more about it HERE), the bill is still being considered.

As you can see, more than Russia being the bad guy here, I think that America is pushing the Ruskies into throwing the first punch and start a nuclear war.
Now, here’s where it gets really ugly: As previously stated, the Russian policy on nuclear war is “blow’em up, ask questions later”, I guess you already know that. But did you know that Russia possesses a doomsday device? That’s right, Folks, a dreadful contraption that can launch all of Russia’s nuclear weapons, simultaneously!!!! So what is the endgame in all of this? I have no idea, but one thing is sure, Folks. The future does not look too bright for you and me. Or perhaps way too bright (I heard nuclear explosions can be blinding).
