As you can tell from the photo above (provided by examiner.com) the plane reportedly broke in two pieces at the time of landing, only one person died (the other 124 are injured and 6 were unharmed). That’s almost miraculous. From the pictures it almost looks like everyone died! Also, I thought planes were protected against lightnings! What’s the point of flying on a lightning rod full of super-volatile fuel? I’d rather ride a car than a plane. Really. I don’t care what’s your argument, falling from like 10000 ft sitting on a bunch of super-volatile fuel is not the same as crashing at 60 mph into a tree or even another car going at the same speed. At least my corpse would be recognizable.

Governor Pedro Gallardo and the pilot both told reporters lightning was the cause for the crash. There were several reports from weather stations of lightning being in the area at the time of the plane crash. According to the World Wide Lightning Location Network, there were 11 strikes within 6 miles of the runway in a five minute span around the time of the accident.
There were 131 people, 121 adult passengers, four minors and six crew members aboard the Boeing 737-700 jet when it crashed.
See, this is why I’m afraid of flying. They keep saying “it’s safe to fly” and “flying is safer than driving a car” but then shit like this happens and you don’t know if it was actually a lightning or they are covering up some human error or some mechanical flaw in the plane! And don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it wasn’t a lightning but maybe it wasn’t, we don’t know.

And I certainly won’t be taking a ship anytime soon, If I wanted to sleep with the fishes I’d just buy some cement and make me some nice shoes.
