If I asked you right now to spend a day without food, you would probably knee me in the genitals and yell “HELL NO!”. If I asked you to spend a week without food you would probably shoot me in a leg and kick me on the floor while I adopt a fetal position, but, what would you do if I asked you to spend 70 years without eating or drinking? ok, you don’t have to answer that, I don’t even wanna know. My point is, that we give for granted many commodities we have today and don’t even think about letting them go, one of them being stuffing yourself with all kinds of food and drink. I can hardly spend 25 minutes without coffee and without my 5 meals a day I get all wonky and start to malfunction, but Prahlad Jani, a man from India says he spent 7 decades without food or drink and he’s as good as new!

Mr Jani, who claims to have left home aged seven and lived as a wandering sadhu or holy man in Rajasthan, is regarded as a ‘breatharian’ who can live on a ‘spiritual life-force’ alone. He believes he is sustained by a goddess who pours an ‘elixir’ through a hole in his palate. His claims have been supported by an Indian doctor who specializes in studies of people who claim supernatural abilities, but he has also been dismissed by others as a “village fraud.”

Right now Prahlad is in observation, in a hospital in Ahmedabad, Gurjarat (hell knows where that is) and he got 6 days without eating or drinking and he has not shown any sign of lethargy or starvation or whatever, he hasn’t even pee’d or crapped yet! Which is amazing to say the least, because he’s recycling that shit over and over and over and that’s just NASTY!

It is common in India for Jains and Hindus to fast, sometimes for up to eight days, without any adverse affects, as part of their religious worship. Most humans cannot survive without food for 50 days. The longest hunger strike recorded is 74 days.

I have to add also that these sorts of ‘holy men’ in India are pretty common and lately, with the development of science and education they are all started to be recognized as ‘village frauds‘, using common magician tricks and science to perform miracles in front of ignorant peasants or uneducated people, which quite honestly sucks balls.
